Born in Brest in 2020 at the initiative of Lionel Cadiou, Prisonnier du Temps was originally conceived as a solo project, developed alongside Syndrome 81. While its early compositions naturally carried the influence of the punk and hardcore scene Lionel came from, the project quickly developed an identity of its own: direct, instinctive music deliberately stripped of the polished conventions of modern production.
A musician, songwriter and producer active in the punk and hardcore scene for nearly twenty years, notably with Syndrome 81, Coupe-Gorge, Grisaille and Justice Divine, Lionel Cadiou developed Prisonnier du Temps as a space for musical freedom. Each song is built spontaneously, with a strong desire to preserve the sense of urgency and authenticity that defined the early days of punk and hardcore.

What's the point of the howl of string to speaker, the hammering of stick-on skin? Is it transcendence, elevating the human spirit by catharsis in sound? Or is it summoning chaos, a purgatory in which to bask in all that’s unclean, the better to feel alive?
Why not both? Because that’s what’s on offer on Diet Of Worms, the second Rocket release by The Shits, Leeds via Newcastle’s titans of disgust and deliverance. This is a feast for the senses in the worst way possible - primal rock boiled down to its essence and flung full in your face. Using repetition, tortured vocal invective and heads-down intensity as blunt instruments, these eight tracks are an unprecedented torrent of acidic salvation. Whilst lurking somewhere on the decadence-destruction axis between the nihilism of prime Stooges and the bloody blackout of Brainbombs, Diet Of Worms is possessed of a legitimately uncompromising hostility that both elevates and debases it to co-ordinates unknown.

SCUSI is a quartet formed in Brussels that delivers rock infused with Italian punk and the female voices of the 70s and 80s — in the vein of Kandeggina Gang or Jo Squillo solo. The band also blends in the energy of great sixties classics such as Caterina Caselli and Lucio Battisti. Since SCUSI's first concert at the Petit Lion this year, word of mouth has spread.
