As Svær, Brussels based sound artist Médéric Mondet unfolds an experimental electronic music project at the intersection of drone, ambient and electroacoustic practices through dense, immersive textures shaped from heavily processed field recordings, tape-loops and analog manipulations, creating sonic landscapes both raw and precisely sculpted.
His music explores zones of tension between sound materiality and perception, with a focus on the physicality of sound and its political and narratives resonances.
Both introspective and engaged, his sonic practice questions the boundaries of ambient music as well as memory and structures of power, giving rise to deeply embodied listening moments.
He released music on labels like Bonambi and tâalem and has shared stages with the likes of Tim Hecker, Ignatz or Mark Ijzerman.
