Nearly ten years after Nocturne, Girls in Hawaii returns with Eldorado, an album about reunion, memory and renewal. The Belgian band's fifth record marks a return to what matters most: writing together, trusting instinct, and rediscovering the simple joy of making music.
Born out of a period of uncertainty and following the passing of their longtime manager Pierre Van Braekel, the album grew from a series of concerts celebrating the twentieth anniversary of From Here to There. Back on stage, the band rediscovered a sense of collective energy and joy that eventually led to dozens of demos and these new songs.
Blending shimmering pop melodies, indie-rock tension and intimate melancholy, Eldorado explores the defining themes of our time: climate anxiety, exhaustion, loss, self-doubt, childhood memories and the search for meaning in an unstable world. Yet the album never gives in to despair. Instead, it searches for beauty, connection and the reasons to keep moving forward.
Inspired by the idea of an unattainable but necessary quest, Eldorado is a record about perseverance, friendship and the enduring belief that songs can still light the way.
